Matchday 6 stuns Keepers with 333 Goals!

Matchday 6 saw 66 Matches take place across Singapore, the most matches on one day since the start of the JSSL National Youth Leagues.  With growing excitement, strikers seemed to have rediscovered their shooting boots, smashing in a total of 333 Goals (resulting in over 5 Goals per Match). Perhaps as a result of the Goal.com Goal of the Month reaching over 2500 views on Facebook, players have found a new found enthusiasm to take on that long-range effort destined for the top corner. 

Some new contenders for October’s Goal of the Month Competition include Goals from Boys 6 and the Girls National Leagues:

October kicks off with Lightning in the Sky and Thunderous Strikes on the Pitch

While the unpredictable Singaporean weather looked to dampen spirits, enthusiasm for youth football prevailed on Matchday 5 with 53 Matches taking place and over 221 Goals scored! While this may be slightly lower than previous weeks average goals at 4.2 Goals per Match, Strikers can rest assured that not every weekend they will be soaked.

Last week’s poll into who fans predict will be champions of the most divisions ended in a tie with 34% of votes each going to ESA and LFA with JSSL in 3rd place with 23%. However, JSSL currently is in the lead, topping 8 Leagues with LFA close behind topping 7 Leagues and ANZA sits in 3rd place topping 5 Leagues.

Some exciting fixtures to look forward to for Matchday 6 include:

1 pm B8 Div 1 – JSSL FC 1 vs Turf City at HQ Arena as both teams look to kick-start their seasons!

11 am B10 Div 2 – ESA Dortmund vs JSSL FC 2 at Stamford in a 1st vs 2nd place matchup!

2:45 pm B6 Div 3 – JSSL U6 Girls vs LFA 12 Charlie at HQ Arena Cages, the 100% record girls face a tough challenge!

1:30 pm B14 Div 4 – ESA Lisbon vs Chelsea FC IDC Singapore at Turf City, 1st vs 2nd Place matchup!

6 pm B14 Div 1 – GFA vs ESA Porto at HQ Arena, 3rd vs 4th, with both teams on equal points they will be looking to add some breathing room from the bottom of the table.

3:55 pm B16 Div 2 – JSSL TRFC vs ISA, another 1st vs 2nd matchup and with both teams scoring over 4 goals per match the stage is set for a thrilling match.

Superb September of Matches comes to a close with the inaugural matches at SAFRA!

Matchday 4 saw the beginning of the highly anticipated Boy’s 6 leagues at JSSL HQ Arena alongside the first matches for Boy’s 8, Boy’s 10 & Boy’s 12 for Division 3/4/5. With a total of 56 matches taking place, 286 goals were scored to continue the weekly statistic of an average of 5 goals being scored per match. Many of the National League Division 1 & 2 teams are now well into their seasons and the League Tables are starting to show which teams have hit the ground running.

JSSL National Leagues Kick Off Division 3/4/5 & Girls National Leagues in Style!
September 23rd 2018

With the first matches of Division 3 & Division 4 for Boys 7, Boys 9 & Boys 11 taking place alongside the beginning of the Girls National Leagues, a total of 59 fixtures took place on Matchday 3. A total of 304 goals were scored across these matches, a stunning average of 5.15 goals per match, as such the amount of goals scored continues to increase and similarly the quality of celebrations!

At the end of the weekend’s play, ANZA Socceroo’s top Boys 7 Division 1 while SMSA Ardour is ahead of ESA Venice by goal difference in Boys 7 Division 2. LFA 10 Alpha is above GFA Japan and SCCA Blanco by 1 point in Boys 8 Division 1 but has played one more match, while Sporting, Albirex, and ESA Lyon are all on 9 points in Division 2, however, Sporting have played 1 less match! British Football Academy leads White Sands in Boys 9 Division 2 by goal difference but with less match played. Meanwhile, in Boys 10 Division 1 LFA 08 Alpha lead Turf City FC by 1 point with 1 more match played and in Division 2 JSSL FC 2 continue their perfect record of 3 wins in 3 matches with LFA 08 Bronvo close behind with 2 wins in 2 matches.

GFA Japan’s perfect start continued to keep their top position in Boys 11 Division 1 while JSSL FC 2 lead British Football Academy in Division 2 on goal difference. Turf City made it 3 wins in 3 matches to lead Boys 12 Division 1 while JSSL FC 2 lead Division2. Similarly, in Boys 14 Division 1 first place Turf City registered their 3rd win but have played an extra match while LFA 05 Alpha top Division 2 with 2 wins in 2 matches. Finally in Boys 16 Division 1, AZNA Socceroos made it 3 wins in 3 matches, however, JSSL FC 1 won their first match and have 2 matches in hand. In Boys 16 Division 2, JSSL Tampines Rovers FC and ISA maintain their perfect starts to the season, however JSSL TRFC lead by just 1 goal!

JSSL National Leagues second weekend continues with Goals Galore!
September 16th 2018

The JSSL National Leagues continued into the second weekend of action with the Boys 7 Division 1 kick off their season in style with 16 goals in just 3 matches! With no disruption from the weather, all matches were able to be completed throughout Singapore. This resulted in a total of 208 goals hitting the back of the net in just 44 matches, keeping pace with the first weekend’s average of about 5 goals per game.

At the end of the weekend’s play, ANZA Socceroo’s top Boys 7 Division 1 while LFA 10 Alpha maintains their leading position in the Boys 8 Division1. JSSL FC 1 continued their strong start to the season with a second win in a row and Turf City FC also registered their second win to lead the Boys 9 & Boys 10 Division 1 respectively. Meanwhile, in Boys 11 Division 1 Turf City lead GFA Japan by just 1 goal difference and in Boys 12 Division1 JSSL FC 1 lead Turf City by 4 goal difference. For the 11 a side format, Turf City top the Boys 14 Division 1 while ANZA Socceroos lead Boys 16 Division 1.

GIRLS NATIONAL LEAGUE WEEKLY FIXTURES

JSSL National Leagues Kicks Off an Action-Packed Weekend with 98 Teams, 49 Matches & 234 Goals! September 9th 2018

The first weekend of the JSSL National leagues began with 20 clubs kicking off their seasons across the U8 to U16 age groups for Division 1 & 2. With matches taking place throughout Singapore, there were some emphatic performances, nail-biting last-minute goals and most importantly over 1000 players stepping onto the pitch.

While the unpredictable Singaporean weather threatened to disrupt games in the morning, the sun soon showed itself and allowed for a full days play to resume leading to 234 goals in just 49 matches (almost 5 goals a match!). With some matches netting over 10 goals, attackers seem to have found their form from the very first match, long may it continue! 

At the end of an action-packed weekend, LFA 10 Alpha top B8 Division 1 thanks to their victory over Turf City while JSSL FC 1 top B9 Division 1. In B10 Division 1, JSSL FC 1 is in first place ahead of Turf City by just 1 goal scored while in both B11 and B12 JSSL FC 1 lead Turf City by a plus 2 goal difference. In B14 JSSL FC 1 is ahead of GFA Japan by a plus 3 goal difference while in B16 Div 1 Anza Socceroos beat Turf City to start their league campaign leading the pack, while the rest of the division is yet to play.

In the Division 1 matches, there were some fantastic ranged free kicks, bullet headers and passing play leading to high-quality finishing. One such example from JSSL FC 1’s Max McCoy can be seen below:
